a great way to think about ventilation and respiration is that ventilation is mechanical in that your muscle or other device such as a BVM are working to move air in and out whereas respiration is biological in nature your cell as jim explains perfuse and defuse oxygen that’s why poor perfusion is not always if never a sign on inadequate ventilation.
