Your Thoughts On Arming EMS?

like anything, there are pros and cons…. our biggest concern is role confusion along with firearm retention.IF i am to carry, am i deputized? do i have arresting powers? what if a patient tells me something as the proider, does that count as doctor/provider patient confidentiality or am i considered law enforecement and can use it? do i have to miranda them before treatment?
and if i am dealing with a sick person, maybe the bad guy, and focused on my job at hand, i am not focused on weapons retention…which could turn ugly
